Kineo Decathlon!

When is it?

May 29th - Aug 16th (you can complete these a on your own time or during Kineo classes!

What is it?

12 “events” from which you can pick your 10 best.

These events will test your endurance, strength and power

Why are we doing this?

This Kineo Decathlon is a great way to test your endurance, strength and power and to set benchmarks for yourself to improve upon for next year! It’s also a great way to get out of our comfort zones and try new things! AND ITS THE MIDDLE PIECE OF YOUR SUMMER BINGO CARD!

Let’s have some fun wether your goal is just to complete 10 events or to compete for Kineo’s fittest!

Will there be scheduled events?

We will have opportunities on Ultra and All strength days to complete the inside events and we encourage the Kineo community to self organize to complete the outside events in groups!

What are the Events?!

Just pick 10 or complete the dirty dozen and keep your top 10 scores! click on links for descriptions

1) Section 16 loop hike / run for time! (start and finish in the same place - counter clockwise loop) try and record with gps

2) Manitou incline for time! First wood step to last gaining 2000 ft up! (try and record with gps)

3) Bike ride time trial up 26th street and right on gold camp Rd all the way up gold camp Rd to where pavement turns to dirt. Start clock from a stopped start here . This 4 ish mile climb gains about 1000ft and has a fairly gentle slope once on gold camp rd. (try and record with gps) let us know if you need to borrow a bike!

4) 1 mile run at Kineo on the woodway treadmill for time

5) Max speed on dynamic mode treadmill

6) .12 mile skateboard push on woodway treadmill for time

7) 2000 m row for time.

8) Max power on rower.

9) 4 min max reps step ups on big box (16 inches)

10) 4 min max reps of ground to green line wall ball (10lb men 8lb women)

11) 2 min max reps hand release pushups

12) 2 min max reps Dumbell power cleans from box

Are there Categories and podiums?

Yes! we recognize top 3 total points in the following categories:

Open Men

Masters Men (60 +)

Open Women

Masters Women (60 +)

Kineo Fittest overall! We will scale the points for gender (10% for endurance events and 20% for power events if not already scaled with different wts, etc)

How does the scoring work?

Keep track of all your times and reps! Certain inside events will be judged by our training staff. We will have formulas for each event to calculate your score 0-1200 just like in decathlon events. Your total will be all 10 event scores added together. More info soon!
